Common elements of competency frameworks

When looking at the competency frameworks that were introduced in Chapter 2, there are some striking similarities between some of the frameworks. If more than one framework have the same concepts within them, then it makes sense that this may be a ‘good thing’ that should be present in any framework. In this way, it is possible to abstract out a ‘best set’ of features for a framework. This approach of modelling and then abstracting common elements can be applied not only to the frameworks themselves, but also to the process of assessment itself.
