ON THE EVE OF CHANGE
The generation and assessment of options discussed in the previous chapter is typically task-force intensive. Only after the task forces have done most of their work does top management get involved. Once this analytical work is done and the list of appropriate actions drawn up, top managers must take centre stage in preparing for the transformation of the company's environmental future. Concretely, this means they must focus on three basic activities.
