Project Stakeholder Management

Project Stakeholder Management includes the processes required to identify all people or organizations impacted by the project, analyzing stakeholder expectations and impact on the project, and developing appropriate management strategies for effectively engaging stakeholders in project decisions and execution. Project stakeholders can be internal to the project, such as the project team, or external to the project, such as a regulatory agency. The ability to manage stakeholder expectations, involvement and engagement is a key factor in project success.

You will need to manage those stakeholders that have both a high degree of influence, and those with little influence, but high interest in the project outcome.

Communication is the main component in managing stakeholder expectations. To manage engagement you will also need skills in facilitation, conflict management and issue management.
