User Interface Preferences

This section contains an overview of how to configure Outlook settings. Then you will learn how to set the settings that apply to the Outlook user interface and how Outlook works in general. Other settings that apply to items such as e-mails, contacts, and tasks or to topics such as secure e-mail are covered in the chapters where they apply.

Most Outlook user interface settings are located in the Tools, Options dialog. This dialog is organized into tabs that logically group the settings. Tabs in the Options dialog are also called property pages. Figure 2.22 shows the Options dialog opened to the first tab shown.
