Abstract
There is a growing deficit of trained pathologists worldwide, which is particularly pronounced in low- and middle-income nations. Large projected demographic and disease trends, coupled with the risk of future infectious disease outbreaks and healthcare disruptions, will only increase the need for more pathologists.
