When we arrived at the venue there appeared to be just a few speakers and a couple of power amps to drive them, so I thought that I'd better just check that a proper system was coming in. Sure enough, my gut feeling was correct and no system had been booked, the venue thought we would be bringing one. Obviously, someone had screwed up but I didn't have time to get into the politics; I asked to see all of the gear available so that I could assess the situation.
