I’m going to be honest with you here. If your goal is to run your database in a web browser or on a mobile device, Access is not the way to go. Microsoft has made several attempts over the years to make Access web friendly (such as web apps) but has abandoned those attempts because they lacked the functionality of the desktop version of Access. If Access isn’t great for the web, what is it good for? The millions of small businesses and charitable organizations throughout the world that want a robust and low cost database. And, it is scalable (fancy word, huh?) — meaning if your business grows to the point where it has outgrown Access, you can easily move your data to an “enterprise” database application such as Azure, Oracle, or mySQL.
