Examining Financial Statements

About This Chapter

You will find that a company’s annual report, as discussed in Chapter 1, whether printed or on a company website, contains a substantial amount of information. There may be a mixture of financial information as well as such issues as sustainability and key performance indicators. We discuss these topics in Chapter 6.

It is easy to be overwhelmed by the amount of information. So, in this chapter, we introduce the three main financial statements we discussed in Chapter 1. These are:
