Managing an Abusive Employee

The first step in managing an employee-batterer is to know that he or she has a problem. Look for problems with job performance and absenteeism, and any sign of injuries related to the victim’s attempt at self-defense. But much more likely, there will be no indication that the employee is beating his wife once a month. It is not uncommon for the identified abuser to be considered a great guy, friendly, and amiable to all. It is his or her charisma and charm that often makes people doubt the veracity of the victim who makes allegations of abuse.
