Personal Safety Plans

If a company truly cares for its employees and wants to protect the significant financial investment it has made in orientation, training, and experience, it must show concern about the individual’s safety when she is not at work. A crisis counselor can help a victim assess the threat and develop a personal safety plan. A large portion of such planning focuses on how to stay safe and make preparations to leave while she is still living with the abuser. Employers are strongly advised to make an agency referral and encourage the victim to work with such an authority; these professionals have the training and experience to handle this critical task.
