Stand-Alone Policy, or a Component of a Broader Policy?

An important consideration to be made in adopting and developing a domestic violence policy is to determine if it will be a stand-alone policy or a component of a general policy on workplace violence. There are merits to both approaches: A separate, stand-alone policy sends a clear message about how seriously the company takes the issue. A separate chapter in the policy manual draws more attention to the company’s commitment to support victims and denounce acts of abuse.
