Chapter 1. Starting with Acrobat
Acrobat 9 is the latest and—really—greatest version of Adobe Systems’ software for viewing, managing, and manipulating PDF files. At this point in its evolution, Acrobat incorporates more than a decade of Adobe’s experience and experimentation with what people want to do with PDF files and how best to do that.
What will you find new in Acrobat 9? Well, new features, of course: portfolios, Flash integration, real-time collaborative document reviews. But, at least as important, Acrobat 9 streamlines and simplifies the use of its features; it’s easier than it has ever been to create forms, send files out for review, and combine PDF files into a single document.
