The Timeline panel also allows you to trim and edit your clips. The textured colored strip indicates when your layer is visible.

You can click and drag the center of clips to change their position in the timeline. Press [ to align a clip’s In point to your current playhead. Press ] to align a clip’s Out point to your current playhead.

You can click and drag the end of a clip to trim it. Press opt-[/Alt-[ to trim a clip’s In point to your current playhead. Press opt-]/Alt-] to trim a clip’s Out point to your current playhead.
