In After Effects, organization is crucial—even before you open the software. Let’s look at some best practices to keep track of where things are.

Folder Structure

Make sure you’ve downloaded the assets for this lesson (see the Introduction). You’ll see a set of folders that looks like this:

I start every project by duplicating this exact empty folder structure. This way, all my projects are organized the same way, and I know where to find my stuff.
