If you are an Adobe Flash developer, you can create objects that can, to a limited extent, be configured in Captivate. As a Flash developer, you would publish these files from Flash as SWFs. In Captivate, those SWFs (known as widgets because they can usually be modified in some way) can be imported like any animation.

Widgets give Captivate developers the ability to extend Captivate’s functionality without limits. Of course, to create a widget, you’ll need to own Adobe Flash CS3 or newer, and you’ll need to know how to use the program (far beyond the basic skill level).
