Fireworks is uniquely placed in the Adobe product line as a graphical, rapid-prototyping tool. With a multitude of features, such as Pages, Web Layers, Component Symbols, interactive layout features (Smart Guides and Tooltips) and its ability to switch seamlessly from vector to bitmap graphic editing, Fireworks is an ideal application to use for mocking up Web page and application designs.
In this chapter you’ll take a closer look at many of these tools. As you read this chapter, remember that Fireworks is an excellent graphics editor; it is not designed to be, nor should you expect it to be, an HTML Web page editor.
