Chapter 2. The Project Spectrum

Before we define the specifics of project processes and workflows, let’s talk about the projects themselves. With the Flash Platform, you can create projects of varying sizes, complexities, and features. What you’ll find, though, is that as you work with more and more projects, they tend to be placed on a spectrum instead of being in specific buckets.

This project spectrum, shown in Figure 2-1, considers several factors to help define the differences between projects. These include the following:

• Team size

• Dependencies, either external, internal, or based on technologies

• Project lifespan

• Time and budget considerations
