Auto Tone
As a photographer, I’ve trained myself to be wary of “auto” anything, like the Auto mode on my cameras, in favor of figuring out the ideal settings myself. And that’s still good advice for us perpetual learners. But I must admit that when I edit images, I hit the Auto Tone button first thing to see what the app suggests. Sometimes its results are way off, but every once in a while it truly surprises me, pulling details out of shadows without blowing out other areas in unexpected ways, for example. Auto Tone can often be a good starting point to see what the image requires, and then you can adjust individual settings from there.
