These two adjustments aim to take the muddling fog out of photos that lack definition. Both Contrast and Clarity target an image’s midtones, darkening middle-to-dark areas and brightening middle-to-light areas. The difference is that Contrast works on the entire image, whereas Clarity applies its effect with more smarts to local areas within a photo.
