“Our photographs are trying to tell stories in a single picture.”

The work of Holger Maass and his team is a mixture of real sets and digital postproduction. Very often real sets are built in the studio, which sometimes takes weeks of planning and preparation. For the shooting with German celebrity Barbara Schöneberger, a team of 10 people, including specialists from the TV and movie industries, helped to set up the scene. In many cases, even the fashion is specially designed for the shoot. Even when they try to make it real, there is still a lot of postproduction to support the statement and the idea behind the photographs.
