ABSOLUTE COLORIMETRIC RENDERING This rendering intent reproduces in-gamut colors exactly and clips out-of-gamut colors to the nearest reproducible hue, sacrificing saturation and possibly lightness. See also rendering intents.

ADDITIVE COLOR MIXING A reproduction process that mixes red, green, and blue light emitted from a source to produce a wide range of colors. Displays (computer, laptop, and mobile device screens) use the additive color method. See also subtractive color.

ALPHA CHANNEL A saved selection that contains information about which parts of the image will be transparent or semitransparent. Applications such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects read and use alpha channels.
