Final Notes on the Adjustments Panel

As you’ve seen, the new Adjustments panel in Photoshop CS4 makes it very easy to add an adjustment layer to an image quickly. But you can go one step further by using the various supplied presets. Figure 5.58 shows the expanded Adjustments panel with the Channel Mixer Presets expanded. By simply clicking one of these presets, you add that preset to the Layers panel. You don’t need to add an adjustment and then choose the preset—just click the preset and you’re ready to go. A good way to work is to choose a preset to get you most of the way there, and then make minor modifications to suit that particular image.
