Getting Your Photos into Lightroom

Before you can do anything with Lightroom, you have to get the photos into your computer. Lightroom can bring photos in from cameras (via card readers or direct connection) or it can import images that are already on the computer. During the import, you can choose to copy the files to another location, set up the metadata and keywords associated with the imported files, and even apply Develop module settings (which adjust the exposure, white balance, and other attributes of the image; see Chapters 5 and 6).
