upper-right corner of the window.
Setting up your DV hardware
If you’re working with a DV camcorder, you can preview your work on an external
monitor. Note that this procedure is optional; its not required to complete any of
the lessons in this Classroom in a Book.
Sending video/audio outpu
t from Adobe Premiere Elements to an external monitor
takes a bit of setup but is often worthwhile. Computer monitors and TV monitors
use two di erent methods for displaying video; therefore, the color and brightness
levels you see on you
r computer monitor often do not match those on a standard
TV set. Previewing your video on a TV will allow you to spot earlier in a project
potential issues such as the length of shots, transitions, titles, etc.
To connect your
computer to your VCR and TV, do the following:
1 Connect your DV camcorder to the IEEE 1394 port or a USB (Universal Serial Bus)
port on your PC.
2 Using an AV connector (which should have come with your DV camcorder),
connect your camcorder to you
r TV set.
