Replacing an image placeholder using Fireworks
As discussed in Chapter 9, when designing a page, you can defer the task of inserting final artwork
by using image placeholders instead of actual images; then, at the appropriate time, you can replace
these image placeholders with the actual images. Working this way can facilitate smooth, trouble-
free interaction between your Web site design and graphics departments.
To use Fireworks to replace your Dreamweaver image placeholders, follow these steps:
1. In Dreamweaver, open the page that contains the image placeholder you want to replace.
2. Select the image placeholder and click the Create button in the Property inspector. Or sim-
ply Ctrl+double-click (Command+double-click) the image placeholder.
Fireworks launches and creates a new, blank PNG file whose canvas size is set to the
width/height of the placeholder image, as shown in Figure 24-8.
