Chapter Seven Using Blending Modes

I’ll never forget the day when my artist Mom taught me about mixing paint—it was magic! I mixed some blue and yellow paint together, and all of a sudden I had created green! I was able to create something that was previously completely unimaginable. The same and more can be said about Photoshop’s blending modes. They give you the ability to control not only how color blends together, but also how images, tone, type, and shapes blend. More specifically, blending modes enable you to control how the contents of one layer blend with the layer(s) below it.
