Report Writing

INTRODUCTION

A report is an orderly and objective communication of factual information that serves a specific purpose. It is one of the fundamental management tools. The writer is any one who is asked to document his experience of an event, investigation of something, or a survey of any such thing. A report may be oral or written. We are concerned about written reports in this chapter.

They are written by a person (or persons) who presents a record of a completed project, documents a research or laboratory report, documents the condition of a department, records and clarifies complicated information, presents the happening/s to a group of people, or analyses a problem and recommends certain steps to encounter the problem.
