The use of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites for cable-stayed bridges

This chapter introduces fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) applications for cable-stayed bridges with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) stay cables, hybrid stay cables, and/or a CFRP bridge deck. For each of these CFRP components, key design parameters and design strategies are determined and the appropriate value of each key design parameter is suggested.
