Integrated Power Generating Systems

Abstract

In this chapter, the concept of system integration is introduced as a method of overcoming the deficiencies of power generation and cogeneration plants and making them capable of higher utilization of energy resources, better effectiveness, and better sustainability. Given that multiple design options coexist under the shelter of “system integration,” one must differentiate amongst several practices, for example, hybridizing, cascading, combining, and staging.
