8.6.1 Integration Options of a Coal-Fired Power Plant
In this case study four methods of system integration for coal-fired power plant are introduced, analyzed thermodynamically, and compared to a reference conventional coal-fired power plant. Note that system integration requires a sound theoretical basis to quantitatively assess its benefit with respect to a reference case. This assessment is multi-criteria because it must consider economic and environmental impact factors in addition to the pure technical performance assessment criteria.
