Multigeneration Systems

Abstract

In this chapter, power systems with multigeneration that produce additional outputs (commodities) besides power are introduced and analyzed. Due to an increased demand for power in modern society there must be a focus on using renewable energy sources in a synergistic manner with fossil fuels and nuclear energy. In this context, multigeneration systems become very attractive because they can create additional marketable products besides and not only power. Hence, the expected revenue from multigeneration systems is higher and the payback period shorter.
