The experimental and correlated tie lines for this system at 298.2K were plotted in
Figure 2. From the LLE phase diagram, (TBA+ water) is the only pair that is partially
miscible and two liquid pairs (water + 1-hexanol) and (1-hexanol + TBA) are com-
pletely miscible. As it can be seen from Figure 2, the phase diagram shows plait point.
At this point, only one liquid phase exists and the compositions of the two-phases are
equal.
