Alagan Anpalagan received his BASc (H), MASc, and PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ryerson University, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in 2001 and was promoted to full professor in 2010. He served the department as the director for the Graduate Program (2004–2009) and the Interim Electrical Engineering Program (2009–2010). During his sabbatical (2010–2011), he was a visiting professor at the Asian Institute of Technology and visiting researcher at Kyoto University.
