Abstract
Silk is the only natural fiber available in filament form. The fibrous waste generated by the extraction process (reeling) and rearing is converted into yarns using a spinning process. In addition, a few varieties of silk are spun to produce yarns. This chapter deals with advances in the spinning process used for the production of silk and blended yarn.
