Silk fabric was first developed in ancient China, with the earliest sample found as early as 3500 BC. It was originally reserved for the Emperors of China for their own use and gifts to others. With passing time, silk became popular in Asia and then gradually in all parts of the world. Despite the development of several new fibers, the popularity of silk has not declined because of its various unique qualities.
