Lifebuoy
Lifebuoy, the number one antibacterial soap, is almost a household name. Lifebuoy has been a part of the Indian context for the last several decades (Balakrishnan, 2012). During the 1960s, Lifebuoy had a short ad film which was shown in theatres throughout the length and breadth of the country. Lifebuoy was an antibacterial/antigerm soap for the masses. The ad film had shown a game of football, which was associated with perspiration. Perspiration in turn is commonly associated with germs and Lifebuoy was positioned as the antibacterial soap that kills germs (Balakrishnan, 2013).
