Week 4: Affiliate Motivation

There are multiple ways to define motivation, but with affiliates, the first place to start is agreeing on the goal. This part is actually fairly easy. Although you want them to put up your links, increase exposure, integrate a data feed, increase average order size, bring in new customers, and run specific consumer promotions, the main thing you want to see happening are referrals of sales or leads. Here your goals are fully aligned, because affiliates also want to see those leads. The hard part is motivating those who are not interested, not capable, or have burned themselves in the past.
