Chapter 24. Use Case

A use case describes a business workflow of measurable value to the customer. The Use Case practice describes the behavior of the system in response to external events and action by describing the systems response.

Business Value

Use cases affect product utility by communicating requirements clearly. A use case is more effective if it is an evocative document and is built collaboratively; it is less effective if it is a representational document and is used as the primary form of communicating requirements.
