A very good question and one I often asked myself in the middle of the night when the blank page and deadlines loomed. I realised writing a book is very much like running or auditing a project. When you start, you have an idea of what you will end up with, but you cannot be certain of the final product. It’s exciting and challenging, and you hope it will produce something useful and worthwhile. At the same time, it can also be scary and alarming; daunting even when you look at the task ahead. Since I released the previous version of this book: Agile Governance and Audit – An overview for auditors and agile in 2014, much has changed and so it is time to face my fears again and update the book.
