The role of extension programs continues to undergo a transformation, with a focus on engaging the end-user to innovate. Extension programs that once relied on top-down program delivery now see value in local modifications of technology to fit within local resources and needs. Collectively, the focus is on quality partnerships and collaborations to support adaptive innovation. The goal is to replace a supply-driven approach with a decentralized, demand-driven extension system.
