This chapter diverges a bit and looks at the way that AI and A-Life can be deployed in a multiplayer environment. The consequences of A-Life (and AI) in a multiplayer environment are a little different from other gaming environments, and it is worth taking the time to examine some of the unexpected bonuses that arise as well as a few points to watch out for. There are many types of multi-player environments, but they can be summed up into three broad categories:
