This is a brief introduction. I mean this in two ways. Firstly, in the most literal sense – I intend this introductory chapter to be short. Secondly, there are many discussions which could fall under the umbrella of “artificial intelligence for behavioural science,” and this book could not possibly cover them all. Therefore, I have restricted my focus within this book to how artificial intelligence (AI) systems can be used to influence individual behaviours through the altering of decisional-contexts (or choice architecture).
