In this chapter, we covered the basics of the transaction management and STM. We explored the Akka construct for STM – transactors that are implemented via Refs, and
UntypedTransactor instances that provide the automated, coordinated services for managing and updating Refs. Lastly, we explored the agents, modeled on the Clojure agents that provide an uncoordinated, asynchronous change of individual locations.
In the next chapter, we will cover what it takes to make an Akka application ready for production. We will explore how to write unit tests involving actors, managing environment configuration changes and deployment strategy.
