Appendix E. Neural networks

In chapter 5, we introduced the central ideas of neural networks. We also demonstrated how to build a simple neural network, train it, and use it in a practical scenario. The general subject of neural networks is vast; we only touched on the tip of the iceberg. It's difficult to discuss the fundamentals of neural networks without using mathematical terminology. We hope that we did a good job explaining the basic concepts, but a deeper understanding of the inner workings requires a dive into the specialized literature.
