Introduction

Before we talk about anything related to diversity, equity, inclusion, or belonging (DEIB), we have to talk about why I do this work, which is integral to why I’m writing this book. Like many people who are involved in advocating for DEIB, this is deeply personal for me. What makes it personal, you ask? Let’s start with how I define who I am.
