How to Make Sure Your Design Is Reasonably Safe and Sustainable

While safety is the number one consideration for plant designers, and sustainability is important, these things cost money. Engineers care about costs, so we balance improvements in safety and sustainability against them. Generally we aim to make plants just as safe and sustainable as is legally required, though ethical consideration may cause us to exceed the minimum standard on occasion.
