Professional Practice

There is a lot more to practical problem solving than is taught in university, and there is a lot more to engineering than problem solving. There are (for good or ill) other people involved. There are consequently professional standards, codes of practice, and customs. There are also a number of types of structured and unstructured interactions and communications with other engineers. It is now fairly rare that process plant design engineers will be formally trained in all of these things, but we are still expected to know them. Here are a few pointers focusing on Process Plant Design issues.
