A priori metadata A priori metadata can be defined as the metadata created and affixed to an information object before ‘publication’, that is before release of information to users. It can thus be considered as before-the-fact metadata, as the description of the information object is made before its use.

Linked data A data model that identifies, describes, links and relates structured data elements, analogous to the way relational database systems function, although Linked Data is aimed to operate at a web scale.
