Each year, all libraries are given a certain amount of money in order to run their activities. Typically, by the year’s end all the money has been spent. But what did we actually do with it? Did it create any value? Could it have been better spent elsewhere? These are relevant questions for those of us who work in libraries, as well as for our employers, government authorities, taxpayers and other sources of funds.
