Customer surveys

In this chapter we discuss two customer surveys that were conducted at Gothenburg City Library. The first survey was conducted as part of the efforts to write this book and the purpose was to measure the library's self-image and its legitimacy. One thing that we particularly had in mind was the planned renovation and expansion of the library, and the uncertainties that inevitably exist in conjunction with a project of such magnitude. For example, how do we justify a need for more space when borrowing and visitor statistics are on the decline? Only certain parts of the survey are discussed in this chapter. The questionnaire is provided in Appendix 2.
